Brisk Movers

Free, No-Obligation Estimate

Takes about 2 minutes.

An owner-run Queens moving crew that has worked this borough since 2016. Cris knows the fifth-floor walk-ups and pre-war stairwells, the co-op board COIs and freight-elevator windows in LIC, and the tight one-way streets off Ditmars, and he hands you a fair hourly rate or a flat quote in writing with no surprises.

Three Steps to Moving Day

From that very first hello to the final box carried through the door and set down in the right room.

1

Tell Us About the Move

Walk Cris through the shape of your move over the phone, on a quick video call, or right in the form. Back comes a fair hourly rate or a written flat quote, not a squishy figure that balloons once the truck is loaded.

2

Lock In Your Date

Claim your day and we set the right crew and truck, then sort the certificate of insurance your co-op or condo board needs, the freight-elevator reservation, and the parking on a tight one-way.

3

We Carry the Load

Cris handles the entire job himself, wrapping, loading, driving, and placing, and we route the run around the BQE, the LIE, and Northern Boulevard to keep the day on schedule.

Fully Insured

Cargo and liability coverage rides on every job, and we run through your valuation choices together before you put your name on a single form.

Meet the crew

Owner-Run, Not Brokered

The person who shows up at your door is Cris himself, not day-labor scraped off an app that morning. He runs the job beside a small, trained crew he counts on, and he is there for it from the first box through to the last.

  • The owner on site, start to finish
  • Used to fifth-floor walk-ups, pre-war stairwells, and co-op COIs
  • You deal with Cris, not a call center
Our trucks

Clean, Careful Trucks

Our trucks roll up clean and fully stocked, with Cris right alongside them. Would you rather rent your own truck or set down a POD? He will load or unload it with the very same care.

  • Well-kept trucks with pads and liftgates
  • Stocked with pads, dollies, straps, and shrink
  • We also load your rented truck, POD, or container
How this started

The Story Behind the Name

“Back in 2016 I launched Brisk Movers here in Queens with a single truck and one plain promise: arrive on time, quote a fair rate, and handle your belongings as if they were mine. I still run every job myself.”

What Cris has learned over the years is what actually trips up a Queens move, the fifth-floor walk-ups and pre-war stairwells that swallow an afternoon, the co-op and condo boards that want a certificate of insurance on file, the freight-elevator windows you have to book in an LIC tower, and the alternate-side parking on a one-way with no driveway. He would sooner hold onto a neighbor for the next decade than grab at one fast payday.

Good to know

Questions We Hear a Lot

What will my move cost?

It really comes down to how much you are moving and how tough the building is to get in and out of. Book two movers and a truck and the meter runs from $110/hr, with a written estimate in your hands before we touch a box. Want one fixed figure instead? Cris will give you a flat quote, and that agreed number is the number you pay. Once a move heads across state lines, the math switches to weight and mileage.

My place is a fifth-floor walk-up in a pre-war building. Can you handle it?

That is a lot of what we do. Half of Queens is pre-war walk-ups, and Cris and the crew are used to steep, narrow stairwells, tight landings, and the turns a couch or a dresser barely clears. We measure the stairwell ahead of time, pad the rails and jambs, and carry the heavy pieces down flight by flight, so a five-story walk-up never turns into a problem.

My building needs a certificate of insurance and a freight-elevator booking. Can you handle that?

Yes, and it is routine for us. Most Queens co-op and condo boards want a certificate of insurance on file before move day, and a lot of towers require the freight elevator reserved to a set window. Send us the building’s requirements when you book, and Cris files the COI and books the elevator, so nothing holds you up in the lobby on moving day.

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes. Brisk Movers holds New York licensing and insurance, and Cris works every job through with his own crew, no broker wedged in the middle skimming a cut. Want the coverage specifics? Just ask, and we will walk through your valuation options before anything gets locked in.

There is no driveway and the street is a tight one-way. Is that a problem?

Not a problem at all, and honestly it is the norm all over Queens. Pass along the address at booking and we will work out a spot for the truck, how alternate-side parking falls that day, and the distance of the carry to your door. Our crew shows up expecting a tight one-way and a walk from the truck, not a wide suburban driveway.

Do you take a deposit?

Just a small refundable one that locks in your date, and since it credits right back against your final total, none of it ever disappears. Give us a couple of days’ notice to cancel and every cent is returned. All of it is spelled out in your booking from day one.

How and when do I pay?

You owe nothing until the work is finished, never a moment sooner. Cards, check, and cash all work. Before we pull away, you and Cris run through the final total right there at your door and you sign off on it.

Is there anything you won’t load?

Just a short list, and it all traces back to safety and the law: propane, gasoline, paint, or anything flammable, along with ammunition, houseplants, food that spoils, and pets. Got a piece that is oversized, seriously heavy, or especially valuable? Mention it at booking so the right gear rides along.

They absolute BEST moving company I have had the pleasure of dealing with. With having to order a moving company service last minute because I had to move items from one storage unit to another, Brisk Movers came through clutch! I don't have enough good things to say about Brisk. Cris and Dave were super cool, made the move so easy and seamless and the overall price was the most inexpensive I have ever paid for a move. I am super thankful Cris reached out first when I was seeking a quote for the move, because I possibly would had gone with almost any company considering how urgent I needed to get the move taken care of but Cris was super efficient with reaching out, professional, reasonable with the price and you feel like you've known these guys for years with how they speak you and handle the move. As long as they are available in NYC and I am still living here, I will be booking Brisk Movers as my permanent moving service. These guys are top notch on levels of efficiency, service and reasonable price. Thank you guys again.
